JOHN FRIEDA FRIZZ EASE DREAM CURLS ENHANCING OIL* - £9.99
Is it just me, or is John Frieda producing the very best in hair care for the drugstore at the moment?

I genuinely can't get enough of this brand at the moment. Everything I try from the brand ends in me thinking 'How did I survive without this?' Case in point is the new John Frieda Frizz Ease Dream Curls Enhancing Oil. I have naturally very thick wavy/curly hair. When it's left to it's own devices it just goes wild (especially first thing in the morning - just ask anyone that's stayed in my home overnight - it's like 'cray cray') and, through sheer idleness, I usually end up tying it up someway just to disguise the mess of waves and frizz.

This product is comprised of two layers: a lightweight oil and a purple curl 'elixir' which, when mixed together with a good shake, form a lilac curl enhancing oil that's ready to apply to the hair (don't worry - the colouring of the product doesn't translate onto hair).

Intrigued that any product could give my waves a decent taming I've been testing this product out for nigh on three weeks now. Instead of using my usual oils, lotions and potions after I've washed my hair with the John Frieda Full Repair Range, I've been using this oil purely on it's own. The packaging stops a lot of product from gushing out which is brilliant for someone as cack-handed as me. I literally count out the individual drops that John Frieda recommends using (10) before sectioning my hair and smoothing it on. I then leave my hair to dry naturally (until it's about 80% dry) before blow drying the rest of it with a diffuser attachment on my hair dryer. I haven't applied it straight to my roots though - just to the ends of my hair and worked upwards from there to the mid sections. I think it might make my hair look greasy if I use oil there.

My hair is left with soft waves and curls which are soft, shiny and healthy looking. I've also noticed a lack of the usual 'dry straw' feeling the ends of my hair usually have and the scent, lightly sweet, stays in my hair for hours afterwards.

Would I recommend this product? I really do like it - I'm sure that anyone with an unruly mane like mine would benefit from having it in their hair arsenal. I can imagine that on properly curly hair this would be an exceptional product and really define every lock. For the price, I think it's a great product (it's a lot cheaper than some of the more raved about hair oils available from the drugstore) and it will last me a long time at only 10 drops per use out of a considerably large 50ml.

    1. Mine is like that - it's sort of more wavy the more it grows. I still love the effect though! xxx
